Marine Mammal Internship ProgramAre you a college student
or recent graduate interested in pursuing a career in marine
mammal training? Then come join us at Gulf World Marine Park
for a unique and rewarding internship opportunity.
Our multi-species, training-based program allows you to
spend time in all of our marine mammal departments. You will
work with Bottlenose Dolphins, California Sea Lions and
Harbor Seals on a regular basis. You will also spend time
training Rough-Toothed Dolphins-as we are currently the only
facility in the country that houses these animals in
long-term human care.
In addition to gaining experience in husbandry, animal care
and training, you will also sharpen your public speaking
skills during guest shows and presentations. You will become
an environmental educator and camp counselor during our
public programs. And because Gulf World Marine Park is a
Southeast Area Coordinator for the Marine Mammal Stranding
Network, you will also become a part of our emergency
response stranding team during animal emergencies. If you
are interested in applying for a marine mammal internship
position, please download an application and return it to us
in one packet with your cover letter, resume (including at
least two references), and two recommendation letters.
Please pay particular attention to our application
deadlines. Due to the large volume of applications received,
late applications will not be considered. Incomplete intern
packets will also be ineligible for consideration. Thank you
so much for your interest in our facility, and we look
forward to hearing from you.
